POSITION PROFILE:

The Quality Manager will be responsible for creating and maintaining a AS9100 compliant quality management system. Key responsibilities include day-to-day operations of the quality management system, creating nonconformance process, holding team accountable to AS9100 standards and fostering a quality focused culture. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams, lead improvement initiatives, and manage the quality department. This position is ideal for a proactive professional with strong organizational and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and direct all functional areas of the quality organization
  • Create and maintain an AS9100 quality management system
  • Create and maintain a nonconformance tracking system
  • Create and maintain a robust calibration tracking system
  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the quality department including hands-on inspections
  • Works with Engineering, Production and Customers to develop various Quality plans including Qualification and Acceptance Test Plans, First Article Test Plans, In process Inspection plans and System Specifications
  • Manages and coordinates qualification, periodic, in process and final testing prior to release of product to the customer
  • Provides direct interface with internal and external customers to ensure effective quality systems are fully integrated across the Product Life Cycle
  • Conducts review of contracts and proposals; provides quality support for proposals
  • Capture, generation and report the KPI metrics to measure and improve various aspects of the company’s operations
  • Audits processes and procedures to assure compliance (AS9100, Safety, Contract requirements, etc.)
  • Support Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and Document Control (DCO) processes
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Use Lean Six Sigma theory and practices to assure quality control
  • Recommend and implement continuous improvement projects

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in AS9100 compliant organization
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred 
  • Proven track record of implementing AS9100 compliant QMS system
  • Requires U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status required.

 

IDEALLY, YOU’LL ALSO HAVE:

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and change management skills
  • Proficiency with AS9100 and document management systems
  • Fluency in the French language is a plus.
  • Familiarity with EAR and ITAR compliance.

 

Travel: Occasional international travel and United States domestic travel will vary

 

SALARY RANGE: $130,000 to $140,000 annual salary, plus participation in individual performance bonus plan.
