POSITION PROFILE:

The project manager will support the facilities director in preparing a new facility to receive production processes from other Safran locations and support administrative and operational activities.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate facility engineering and construction in preparation for operational readiness
  • Provide facility infrastructure supporting replication of off-site production processes
  • Manage and report on project cost, schedule, quality, and risk
  • Ensure contractor invoicing matches work performed
  • Monitor contractor performance and take corrective action when necessary
  • Monitor contractor billing against budgetary limits
  • Ensure contractor billings accrue to appropriate cost accounts
  • Ensure financial performance to annual and overall project budget allocations
  • Manage contractor change order requests to ensure validity and limit cost growth
  • Evaluate bid responses and support contract award decisions
  • Report regularly on annual spend projections and facilitate corrective actions when necessary
  • Coordinate with overseas technical experts to replicate production processes in the new facility
  • Report to Safran executives on project performance and projections
  • Travel occasionally to Safran domestic and overseas sites to document processes to replicate

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in construction project management
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Math, Physics, or a related scientific field, Masters Degree is preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding of project management processes, best practices, and safety
  • Fundamental understanding of facility mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • Ability to lead and coordinate activities of company-direct employees
  • Skill leading multidisciplinary contracted engineering and construction contractors and teams
  • Experience in resolving contractor technical and interpersonal issues
  • Familiarity with requirements and nuances of production manufacturing
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex multiple independent and technical tasks
  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status Required

 

IDEALLY, YOU’LL ALSO HAVE:

  • Experience with performance metrics
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean/Six Sigma
  • Conversational French

 

TRAVEL: Up to 10% - Occasional travel between Safran facilities in the United States.  Less frequent travel overseas may be beneficial.

 

Salary Range: $110,000 - $125,000, plus participation in a performance bonus plan
