POSITION PROFILE:

The Logistics Supervisor’s primary responsibility will be the execution and oversight of the site’s receiving, warehousing, inventory, and shipping of technology products in support of space flight. Duties also include ensuring compliance to government and other customer requirements.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Receiving: ensure the accuracy and integrity of incoming deliveries, maintain records of carrier performance, and complete and provide proof of delivery.

 

  • Inventory: move delivered items into proper storage areas, maintain adequate inventory balances, maintain accurate inventory records, provide inventory items to production/assembly floor, and monitor and ensure warehouse security.

 

  • Shipping: package completed products for shipment, facilitate delivery of domestic and overseas goods, ensure compliant export control processes and licenses, drive problem resolution with transportation providers, and support optimization of logistics performance and cost.

 

  • General: Maintain safe conditions in shipping, receiving, and warehouse areas; support manufacturing operations; maintain warehouse & logistics compliance with FAR & DFARS requirements, maintain Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) warehouse audit readiness, and hire supporting staff as operational growth requires.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Provide leadership and motivation to warehouse associate personnel as well as goal setting, performance management, and time and attendance management.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Hands-on experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment
  • 5 or more years’ warehouse/logistics leadership experience
  • Working knowledge of domestic and international logistics including over-the-road shipments, ocean freight, and air freight
  • Experience with industry standard shipping, receiving, and inventory practices
  • Ability to interface professionally with internal and external personnel
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs., stand and walk for long periods, bend and twist often
  • Physical ability to operate dollies to move packages
  • Ability and willingness to provide occasional after-hours or weekend support
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluency in the English Language is required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and proficiency in the use of standard business software tools
  • Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP
  • U.S. Citizenship or Protected Individual status required

 

IDEALLY, YOU’LL ALSO HAVE:

  • Experience with performance metrics
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean/Six Sigma
  • Conversational French

 

Salary Range: $75,000 - $105,000 annual salary
