POSITION PROFILE

 

The System Administrator II’s primary responsibilities are assisting with escalated end-user support requests, reviewing and installing new software/hardware, ensuring installed software/hardware compatibility, and addressing the day-to-day maintenance of the network equipment at our corporate office, satellite facilities, and remote workforce. The role also be responsible for advanced troubleshooting of server/desktop software/hardware problems and identifying, implementing, and documenting system fixes.

 

Responsibilities:

 

The System Administrator II is responsible for troubleshooting of IT and client systems, managing the help desk system, providing technical and end-user support, managing projects, and monitoring system performance. Primary duties include but are not limited to:

  • Be the primary, onsite resource for all employees in the Norcross office.
  • Support Tier II escalations from the DSI Shared Help Desk
  • Minor network, server, and infrastructure troubleshooting
  • Support critical line of business applications
  • Manage and assist with IT\IS projects as required.
  • Assist with creating standard processes, plan effectively to complete tasks on schedule, and clearly document results.
  • Provide limited server support.
  • Maintain network, computer, and phone/cell phone hardware equipment inventory.
  • Serve as ISSO for accredited computing systems, reporting to the ISSM in this capacity.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • 2-5 years of experience as a Systems\Network Administrator with hands-on experience with Windows Server 2016/2019 and Windows 10/11
  • Bachelor’s degree, Associate’s degree, or technical diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Database Analyst, or related field, and\or equivalent work experience
  • Relevant and current certifications desired (Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA, etc.)
  • Experience administering in Microsoft cloud environments, including: Office 365, Exchange Online, OneDrive, Teams, Intune
  • Understanding of Windows Active Directory fundamentals.
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting the following:
    • DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP
    • Switches, routers, firewalls, access points
  • Prior experience with server, desktop, and printer hardware to include but not limited to:
    • Dell\HP Servers, Dell\HP Laptops and Desktops, Printers
  • Experienced in deploying and managing desktop imaging software
  • Experience with IT asset inventory management
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • This position may have requirements for occasional after-hours and weekend support
  • US citizenship required

IDEALLY, YOU’LL ALSO HAVE

 

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure administration; GCC-High is a plus
  • Experience with MS SharePoint a plus, but not required
  • Experience with PowerApps and PowerAutomate a plus, but not required
  • Experience with Apple devices and MDM systems
  • Experience running and terminating network cable
  • Experience working with DCSA accredited information systems
  • Experience working in an ITAR environment and a DoD-cleared facility is a plus
