POSITION PROFILE:
The senior accountant is responsible for day-to-day and month end accounting and financial reporting duties in support of both the Testing & Telemetry and Space Solutions business units.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Compile and analyze financial and business information to prepare journal entries with all relevant backup and approvals
- Complete assigned monthly account reconciliations including supporting schedules and backup
- Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures including creating and maintaining process documentation and work instructions
- Prepare various internal and external financial, operational and statistical reports including monthly income statements, balance sheets, and statements of cash flows
- Contribute to the preparation and validation of recurring and ad hoc presentations
- Support ongoing budget, forecast, and midterm plan activities as required
- Perform ad hoc requests from management and business partners as needed
- Assist in complying with reporting requirements of Safran and Safran DSI
- Support external audit requests and implementation of corrective actions from audits
- Perform other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
- Minimum five years’ experience in a similar position
- Strong accounting background in a mid or large size corporation
- Requisite knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Strong experience using Excel in an accounting and finance function
- Self-starter, able to find, learn, and absorb information quickly
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and oral and written communication skills
- Requires U.S. Citizenship
IDEALLY, YOU’LL ALSO HAVE:
- CPA with some audit experience preferred
- Infor M3 ERP experience
- Experience working for a DoD federal contractor
- Experience working for a company reporting under IAS/IFRS
- Fluency in the French language is a plus
- Experience working in an ITAR environment
