JOB SUMMARY:
As a direct report to the Director, Operations, the Quality and Safety Manager will plan, direct and coordinate Testing & Telemetry (T&T) Quality and Safety programs and activities across the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Manage the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure system is compliant to AS9100D standard and other external requirements.
- Manage all Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) systems and processes in the Norcross facility.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct and Chair T&T’s Safety committee meetings.
- Investigate all accidents and near misses.
- Manage Quality processes including risk management.
- Define, monitor and participate in the analysis of T&T’s key performance indicators.
- Responsible for identifying issues of technical and non-technical quality across the organization.
- Drive identification and development of Opportunities for Improvement (OFIs), be a leader in striving for continuous improvement.
- Establish Quality and HSE policies and provide input for other department policies, processes and programs as determined by senior management.
- Ensure that products are in compliance with specifications and customers’ requirements.
- Develop Projects Quality and Safety plans and ensures these plans are followed.
- Compile and submit regular reports as requested by the scheduled due date.
- Manage, track, and communicate the status of the corrective action system to senior management.
- Develop training materials and provide training on Quality and HSE procedures.
- During supplier selection process, manage supplier quality and risk assessments to determine compliance with T&T’s quality standards.
- Investigate product escapes from QMS failures to prevent recurrence.
- Participate in Projects milestone meetings with the Project Manager.
- Direct and coordinate the internal audit process by scheduling and performing risk-based audits to determine compliance with AS9100D and other quality standards as applicable.
- Coordinate external auditor annual surveillance visits and lead organization to a successful audit.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Mentor and develop the Quality team, directly managing direct reports: quality control and quality engineering associates.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's Degree in Quality Management, Business Administration or related fields, or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
- 5+ years’ experience in Quality, Safety and/or manufacturing environment.
- Experience with technical products in Aerospace or related field preferred.
- Experience with AS9100 and/or ISO 9001.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to analyze complex issues to identify root causes and corrective actions.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
- Knowledge of Safe Storage and Handling procedures for various chemicals and materials.
- Detail oriented, self-starter and comfortable working both independently as well as in a team environment.
- Customer orientation.
- U.S. citizenship, as required for government contracts, with ability to obtain Secret Clearance.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Familiarity with working in an ITAR environment
- Not required but advantageous:
- SAE International Auditor/Lead Auditor Training
- Experience or training in HSE
