JOB SUMMARY:

As a direct report to the Director, Operations, the Quality and Safety Manager will plan, direct and coordinate Testing & Telemetry (T&T) Quality and Safety programs and activities across the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Manage the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure system is compliant to AS9100D standard and other external requirements.
• Manage all Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) systems and processes in the Norcross facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Direct and Chair T&T’s Safety committee meetings. 
• Investigate all accidents and near misses.
• Manage Quality processes including risk management.
• Define, monitor and participate in the analysis of T&T’s key performance indicators.
• Responsible for identifying issues of technical and non-technical quality across the organization.
• Drive identification and development of Opportunities for Improvement (OFIs), be a leader in striving for continuous improvement.
• Establish Quality and HSE policies and provide input for other department policies, processes and programs as determined by senior management.
• Ensure that products are in compliance with specifications and customers’ requirements.
• Develop Projects Quality and Safety plans and ensures these plans are followed.
• Compile and submit regular reports as requested by the scheduled due date.
• Manage, track, and communicate the status of the corrective action system to senior management.
• Develop training materials and provide training on Quality and HSE procedures.
• During supplier selection process, manage supplier quality and risk assessments to determine compliance with T&T’s quality standards.
• Investigate product escapes from QMS failures to prevent recurrence.
• Participate in Projects milestone meetings with the Project Manager.
• Direct and coordinate the internal audit process by scheduling and performing risk-based audits to determine compliance with AS9100D and other quality standards as applicable.
• Coordinate external auditor annual surveillance visits and lead organization to a successful audit.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Mentor and develop the Quality team, directly managing direct reports: quality control and quality engineering associates.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's Degree in Quality Management, Business Administration or related fields, or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
• 5+ years’ experience in Quality, Safety and/or manufacturing environment.
• Experience with technical products in Aerospace or related field preferred.
• Experience with AS9100 and/or ISO 9001.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to analyze complex issues to identify root causes and corrective actions.

• Ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
• Knowledge of Safe Storage and Handling procedures for various chemicals and materials.
• Detail oriented, self-starter and comfortable working both independently as well as in a team environment.
• Customer orientation.
• U.S. citizenship, as required for government contracts, with ability to obtain Secret Clearance.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Familiarity with working in an ITAR environment

• Not required but advantageous:
  • SAE International Auditor/Lead Auditor Training
  • Experience or training in HSE
