POSITION PROFILE:
Safran Data Systems is seeking an Operations Manager that will plan, direct, and coordinate activities within the Norcross, GA operations environment including inventory, integration and distribution operations, and customer service lab operations in conjunction with other departments.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Perform all shipping, receiving, inventory, and material handling functions
- Maintain and grow customer service capabilities
- Maintain the US distribution operations
- Continue to grow our new, small-scale manufacturing business
- Continue to grow the antenna integration operations

- Coordinate with Purchasing to ensure timely deliveries of materials to support Operations, expediting to support opportunities to gain in schedule
- Work with Engineering and Program Management to ensure proper BOMs are being followed as well as technical details and requirements are met and scheduled
- Work with Sales when Operations activities are required by forecasted sales opportunities
- Work with Quality and HSE Manager and team to maintain AS9100 processes, ensure company quality standards, inspect materials, audit performance and processes, maintain KPIs, and maintain a safe working environment
- Maintain test equipment inventory for validation and field services functions
- Maintain demo inventory for Sales
- Develop leads to support Operations in customer service, antenna/manufacturing operations, and warehouse/distribution operations
- Develop an internal, in-plant administration role for customer service operations
- Develop the M3 MRP functions and processes for manufacturing orders, kitting, and inventory monitoring
- Support HSE by maintaining chemical inventory and storage
- Perform steady operational reporting
- Send weekly shipments report to the Safran Group.
- Manage team of service engineers and technicians to conduct day-to-day activities for technical and avionic product repair. Develop and maintain spares inventory system to manage obsolescence and TAT commitments.
- Provide schedule and labor-hour input for quotation and for budget follow-up on projects
- Coordinate activities with the company’s business operations in France
- Develop repair quotations and maintenance proposals for Safran Data Systems customers
- Monitor obsolescence alerts and Requests/Change Orders for the Product Line
- Actively participate in continuous improvement, providing recommendations and implementing enhancements to current methods, procedures and organization, as well as cost-savings initiatives
- Ensure employees have proper training, including technical training, following company policies and processes, and training in HSE
- Comply with FAR/DFAR requirements per Government Contracts including storing, handling, maintaining customer and government furnished equipment and materials
Ensure customer satisfaction by ensuring we are meeting contractual and repair TAT commitments
Develop and maintain diagnostic and repair capability in Norcross facility
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
- EDUCATION INFORMATION
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- YEARS EXPERIENCE
- 10+ years’ relevant work experience; aerospace and/or electronics industry experience preferred
- Must have U.S. Protected Individual status.
IDEALLY, YOU’LL ALSO HAVE:
- Experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 preferred
- Experience operating an MRP system
- Experience with operating forklift and hand truck
- Knowledge of Safe Storage and Handling procedures for various chemicals and materials
- Positive outlook and desire to do what is best for the customer
- Safety Culture oriented
- Familiarity with working in an ITAR environment; knowledge of FAR Parts 45, FAR 52.245 Government Property clauses
- Knowledge of handling and storing Government Property
- Ability to analyze complex issues to identify root cause and corrective actions.
- Knowledge of Safe Storage and Handling procedures for various chemicals and materials
- Detail orientated, self-starter and comfortable working both independently as well as in a team environment. Ability to work in self-directed environment.
- Technical understanding of mechanical and electrical drawings with the ability to use them for troubleshooting
- Strong interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written with a proven ability to coordinate activities in a multi-cultural environment and communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and capacity for adaptation and change reacting to un-forecasted events.
- Due to multiple interactions with the teams located in France, a knowledge of European cultures and/or languages would be a plus.
