POSITION PROFILE:

The Field Applications Engineer, supporting the Ground Telemetry Solutions (GTS) group, will be responsible for contributing to new opportunities and supporting existing customers for the GTS product lines in the United States West Coast territory, with a primary focus on the California region to ensure a robust pipeline and reputation of excellent customer support.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support sales opportunities via product demonstrations at customer sites, trade shows, and other hosted events.
  • Provide customer feedback and concerns to Engineering teams for resolution and continuous improvement of products and features.
  • Assist the Sales team with growth for the West Coast market, focused on the Telemetry product line, which encompasses Ground-Based Equipment, such as Antenna, Receivers, Recorders, etc.
  • Help generate new business opportunities in tangential markets like Space, Missiles, Hypersonic, Watercraft, ETVOLs, etc., and manage existing accounts as directed by periodic contact.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of customer program requirements, current and future opportunities, production schedules, organizational structure, and key decision-makers in the military and prime customers.
  • Submit intelligence from customers, contacts, publications, etc. concerning competition, new product ideas, pricing, industry trends, and customer attitudes.
  • Assist with strategic roadmaps that enhance existing products or require development solutions with a business case based on customer feedback.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Highly Desired - U.S. Citizenship, Acceptable – US Person
  • 5-10 years of Field Application Engineer experience required, in Telemetry or related markets, direct government support, support to prime contractors, and/or the aerospace industry
  • AA degree, preferably technical or equivalent military education
  • Experience with commercial/military avionics, recording products, flight test instrumentation, tracking antenna, and network and data processing is a plus.

  • Demonstrated comfort level in a customer-facing role, assisting accounts both technically & non-technically, with emphasis on customer-specific requirements.
  • Ability to work with partners, consultants, and representatives to facilitate customer access

 

  • TRAVEL: 50% Travel, not including day trips to potential customer sites or trade shows
