POSITION PROFILE:
At Safran DSI, our Internship Program is designed to immerse students in a dynamic, hands-on learning environment that balances real-world business challenges with opportunities for personal and professional growth. Whether you're contributing to cutting-edge engineering projects or supporting core business operations, our internships will prepare you for impactful careers while giving you the chance to build lasting relationships and gain valuable insight into our industry.
We offer internship opportunities across a range of business areas, including but not limited to:
- STEM Roles: Engineering (mechanical, software, systems, and more), Computer Science, Manufacturing, Data Science, and Technology Research & Development.
- Non-STEM Roles: Finance, Marketing & Communications, Management, Business Operations, Human Resources, and Supply Chain.
Interns at Safran DSI gain real-world experience, participate in collaborative projects, and enjoy opportunities to engage with leadership and the broader Safran DSI team.
We value meaningful contributions, and interns often guide their experience toward their personal interests while participating in structured activities like one-on-one mentorship, professional development workshops, and networking events.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Safran DSI intern, your role will vary based on your area of expertise and interest. Below are examples of what you might work on:
STEM Opportunities:
- Collaborate with engineers and technical experts to design, develop, and test advanced systems such as hand-held camera systems, thermal imaging devices, and laser technologies.
- Conduct hands-on experiments, analyze results, and contribute to innovative technical solutions in defense and aerospace.
- Gain exposure to lab environments and learn to work with sophisticated equipment and methodologies.
Non-STEM Opportunities:
- Contribute to financial analyses, market research, and strategic planning to support business objectives.
- Assist with marketing campaigns, branding initiatives, or business development projects.
- Support operational or HR functions by analyzing workflows, optimizing processes, or coordinating high-impact employee engagement activities.
Across all roles, interns are empowered to drive projects forward and create tangible outcomes that align with Safran DSI's mission.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
The following qualifications are generally required for all internship positions:
- Actively enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, computer science, finance, business management, marketing, etc.).
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional organization, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to learn, collaborate, and contribute to team projects.
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status required for all roles.
IDEALLY, YOU’LL ALSO HAVE:
- Demonstrated leadership experience or involvement in campus organizations or relevant extracurricular activities.
- Relevant coursework, research, or previous internship/co-op experiences.
- Experience working in an ITAR environment

Internship opportunities are available across all Safran DSI locations, including:

- Camarillo, CA
- Norcross, GA
- Remote options (specific to role availability)
Compensation: $17.00-$25.00 hourly rate. Compensation is based on educational status, skillsets, and location of internship.
