POSITION PROFILE:

Materials Planner & Analyst will be responsible for ensuring the right materials are in the right place at the right time by analyzing customer orders and demand forecasts to drive purchasing decisions for electronic and mechanical components that support our sensor assembly operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review customer orders and demand forecasts to determine material requirements
  • Run and interpret MRP outputs to identify material shortages and excess inventory
  • Maintain planning parameters in the ERP system (lead times, safety stock, reorder points, lot sizes)
  • Collaborate with sales and operations to understand upcoming demand changes
  • Participate in Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) meetings
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels to meet service targets while minimizing excess
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies
  • Participate in cycle counts and physical inventory audits Identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory and recommend disposition
  • Track and report key planning metrics (fill rate, on-time delivery, inventory turns, shortages)
  • Analyze root causes of stockouts or excess inventory and recommend corrective actions
  • Provide regular updates to management on supply risks and mitigation plans
  • Other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business, or Industrial Engineering preferred
  • Associate's degree with relevant manufacturing experience will be considered
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in materials planning, production planning, or purchasing in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in MRP/ERP systems for planning and purchasing functions
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills including data analysis and reporting
  • Ability to read and interpret Bills of Materials (BOMs) and production schedules
  • Familiarity with inventory control methods including cycle counting and physical inventory
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Proactive communicator who surfaces supply risks before they impact production Comfortable working with imperfect or changing demand data
  • Organized and process-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Collaborative team player who works effectively with production, sales, and supplier contacts
  • Requires U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status required.

 

IDEALLY, YOU’LL ALSO HAVE:

  • APICS CPIM or CSCP certification is a plus and may substitute for formal education requirements
  • Experience with electronics or mechanical component procurement
  • Familiarity with sensor, electronics, or electromechanical product assembly
  • Willingness to work additional hours if required
  • Experience working in an ITAR environment

 

TRAVEL: Little travel is expected for this position, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be required

 

SALARY RANGE: $80,000-$100,000 annual salary, plus participation in individual performance bonus plan.
