POSITION PROFILE:
The Machinist will set up and operate mills and lathes, perform manual machining, and manage in-house rapid prototype and rework jobs. Candidates must excel in maintaining tight tolerances for precision aerospace and defense components, collaborating with engineers to meet high standards, and adhering to established quality and safety procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set up and operate mill and lathes to produce precision components
- Perform manual machining operations including drilling, tapping, milling, and turning.
- Manage in house rapid prototype and rework jobs as assigned,
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measurement tools.
- Maintain tight tolerances consistent with aerospace and defense manufacturing standards.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians to resolve machining or design issues.
- Document work performed and follow established quality and safety procedures.
- Other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
- 2+ years of CNC or manual machining experience (aerospace/defense preferred).
- Strong ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning, and Tolerancing.
- Experience with precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators).
- Familiarity with small part machining and tight tolerance work.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred.
- Requires U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status required.
IDEALLY, YOU’LL ALSO HAVE:
- Willingness to work additional hours if required
- Experience working in an ITAR environment
SALARY RANGE: $32.00-$37.00 hourly rate
