POSITION PROFILE:

The Software Engineer I will develop cutting-edge software for U.S. Government programs, including optical, thermal, and digital targeting systems. You'll contribute to system integration, requirement analysis, testing, and calibration while coding in C, C++, C#, and Python. This role involves cross-discipline collaboration, production support, and adherence to engineering standards. Ideal candidates have strong problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in cross-discipline trades & system-level impacts
  • Participate in own discipline requirements derivation from system-level specifications / requirements
  • Participate in product specification conformance and validation testing, data collection, system integration, and debugging
  • Implement parts of the design assigned
  • Design, code and debug applications in various software languages to include C, C++, C#, and Python
  • Participate in calibration methodology definition and calibration activities
  • Participate in Engineering and Configuration Control processes specific to software development, software release revision control, and pre-planned product improvement initiatives
  • Support efforts for programmatic commitments
  • Provide production support
  • Effectively partner with other disciplines and departments
  • Participate in own discipline external/internal customer presentations
  • Participate in creation of vendor, manufacturability, & quality requirements
  • Other tasks as assigned

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • 0 to 2 years of software development experience in an avionics/aerospace, defense or medical product environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or relevant discipline in Engineering
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite of programs, including MS Word, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel required
  • Proficiency in C, C++,C#, Python, LabVIEW or LabWindows
  • Proficiency in Version Control Software such as SVN, GIT, etc
  • Participate in analysis (static code analysis, cyber security analysis, software review, identification of code metrics, system risk analysis, math models etc.)
  • Learn Safran DSI Optronics tools & procedures
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential
  • Strong organization and presentation skills
  • Developing leadership skills and becoming a good team player
  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status required

 

IDEALLY, YOU’LL ALSO HAVE:

  • Familiarity with working in an ITAR environment

 

TRAVEL: Travel outside the local area and overnight may be required
