POSITION PROFILE:

As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products. You will be responsible for leading quality assurance initiatives, developing and implementing testing strategies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with contract requirements and drive continuous improvement.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the design, development and execution of qualification, acceptance and first article testing
  • Collaborate with engineering, product management, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of quality practices
  • Lead quality efforts on cross functional program teams and interface directly with customers
  • Support Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System
  • Utilize statistical process control methods to improve production quality and reduce defects
  • Production and Engineering development support based on program life cycle and staffing needs
  • Support of Quality Management System processes and documentation in accordance with industry best practices and ISO 9001
  • Audits processes and procedures to assure compliance
  • Supports Engineering Change Proposals and Configuration Control Documentation processes
  • Mentor and guide quality engineers to foster a culture of quality and excellence
  • Uses Lean Six Sigma theory to guide continuous improvement
  • Position will require the ability to work weekends and non-core hours to achieve critical program milestones

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Minimum of 5 years in a Quality Engineering role with proven success and understanding of Quality Assurance procedures, processes and tools
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements and certification
  • Experience managing and performing qualification testing in accordance with MIL-STD-810
  • Excellent presentation, written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management, decision-making, and conflict management skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Comfortable in conversing at all levels within the organization
  • Entrepreneurial attitude, enjoys a diversified and fast paced environment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio and Excel.
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP system
  • Experience with Aras Innovator or similar PLM system
  • Fluency in the English Language
  • Must be a US Citizen or hold US Protected Individual status

 

IDEALLY, YOU’LL ALSO HAVE:

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification desirable
  • Exposure to Electro-Optical equipment is advantageous
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control is beneficial
  • Experience with MTBF and MTTR generation and analysis would be valuable
  • Familiarity with ITAR environment is a plus
