POSITION PROFILE:
The Business Development Manager is responsible for business development, program capture and sales growth in the military and government segment with primary focus on capturing programs for new products / applications and promoting and selling innovative solutions for military critical needs, advanced Inertial technology and EO/IR products.

Primary duties include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for Business Development of Optronics products and capabilities for Mounted and Dismounted Targeting and Inertial technology to the US market.
- Act as the Voice of the Customer and lead Business Development interface at the following US Army installations: Picatinny Arsenal, Fort Belvoir, Aberdeen Proving Ground.
- Generate new business opportunities and manage existing accounts as directed.
- Achieve targeted sales growth goals.
- Identify and understand current operational missions, gaps, and roadmaps within the US DoD and defense primes relative to the market segment.
- Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of customer program requirements, current and future opportunities, organizational structure and key decision-makers in the US DoD, defense primes and associated supply chain.
- Lead capture pursuits; understand price to win and competitive analysis to increase win probability.
- Prepare and conduct senior level presentations and demonstrations to US DoD program offices, defense primes and associated supply chain.
- Sell advanced Inertial products and EO/IR sensor solutions.
- Knowledgeable of market and industry trends, competitors, and leading customer strategies.
- Provide strategic roadmaps that match and enhance Safran DSI Optronics and affiliate product portfolios.
- Articulate product needs to product development and executive staff as required.
- Be a subject matter expert of all Safran DSI Optronics and affiliate solutions supporting the US Mounted and Dismounted Targeting and Inertial technology market.
- Understand and clearly articulate Safran DSI Optronics’ value proposition for the US Mounted and Dismounted Targeting and Inertial technology market.
- Submit market intelligence from customer, contacts, publications etc. concerning competition, new product ideas, pricing, industry trends and customer attitudes.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
- Proven work and or industry experience within the US DoD market including defense primes and associated supply chain.
- Thorough understanding and familiarity of the defense acquisition processes.
- Knowledge and experience in capture and successful execution of US Army Programs.

- A minimum of five to ten (5 - 10) years’ experience in the inertial and/or electro-optics business area with a strong background in marketing, selling or program management to the US DoD, defense primes and supply chain or relevant military experience.
- Proven track record in developing and meeting forecasts or budgets.
- Requires U.S. Citizenship
IDEALLY, YOU’LL ALSO HAVE:
- Experience working in an ITAR environment
- Current security clearance or ability to obtain a security clearance at the SECRET level
