Meet Erich - US Navy Veteran

Erich Berthiaume has been with Safran DSI Optronics since 2018. He started as an Electro-Optical Assembler and was promoted to an Electro-Optical Assembler II, and most recently a Test Technician. Erich served our country for over 10 years. In the US Navy, he was an Aviation Electronics Technician and graduated top of the class for his discipline at A-School. He worked on Strategic Communications, primarily with the 707 air platform, ensuring high-level command nodes could communicate with each other, whether on lead, sea, or air. Erich was able to maintain, troubleshoot, and fix multiple interoperable communication pieces.

In his current role at Safran DSI Optronics, he is responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and laser alignment for products used on the "World's Stage." He credits the Navy for providing him the skills he needed to get his job at Safran DSI Optronics, specifically troubleshooting and quality control.

As a Veteran, Erich appreciates the support of multiple Veterans events that Safran DSI offers, especially the Veterans Day lunch. In addition, he enjoys working alongside other Veterans, which has helped with his transition from the service. In fact, he joined Safran DSI because of their support for Veterans as well as the culture and location (Erich is a New England native from Massachusetts!).

At Safran DSI, our employees are proud to serve those who serve. Erich told us that he truly prides himself on being able to work at a company where he can help produce high quality products for the warfighter. Due to the hands on nature of his role, he is directly serving our Troops everyday with the products that he builds.

Thank you, Erich, for your service!
